Thanks God for giving us another gift of love.
I’m relatively happy that our Princess is little_bit_getting_well now, after 3 days of having a diarrhea and fever. Slowly she’s now back to her usual self: a dynamic superrrr baby girllll!
Today is Black Saturday and here in Qatar you’ll not feel the solemnity of Lenten Season.
Personally, as daily in the morning I tend to meditate as I prayed my “wake-up” prayer and in addition this week I’m also trying to imagine the “religious celebration” back home.
Also, oh yes! Very worthy to mention, I finally finished watching Mulan after more than 10 attempts. Since last week I started to watched it; but not able to finish. Cute movie, I almost cried, hehehe, at the end (hey, it took more than a week for me to finished it!).
We got a bunch of “5-in-1 DVDs” from Souq. Yes, “those kind” of DVDs are openly available here in Qatar!
3:55pm, September 21, 2003. Happy birthday my angel, our princess! Thanks God, Your Will now Done!
In the last more than 20 new years, this new year is the least “thinkable” for me – I dunno why.
Previously, I used to think a lot, what happened last year, and what will gonna happen this year and onwards… but now NO.
Maybe I’m just happy and fulfilled of what I am right now. Or maybe I learned to be complacent. Or maybe I learned now not to worry and think much. Or maybe I’m just pretty sure of my future and I know now where I’m heading to.
Whatever the reason why I’m little bit different today than before, I need to check myself and make sure I’m still living in my highest competitive life and still heading to my ultimate goal.
Oh, by the way, one thing I’m sure in my life today, and really made a difference – I already found the woman that I will spend the rest of my life. She’s a gift from God.

Last night we have Scientific Meeting about Peripheral Arterial Disease. I make sure to listen to the speaker because that disease are common to Diabetic Patient. Its very important to identify it as early as you can because your patient may loss the part affected (amputate). But what underscore most is the important of exercise in the form of walking to prevent further progression of the disease.
What is peripheral arterial disease?
Peripheral arterial disease is a problem with blood flow in the arteries. Arteries carry blood to the muscles and organs in your body. When you have disease in your arteries, they become narrow or blocked. The most common cause of narrow or blocked arteries is fatty deposits (also called atherosclerosis). High cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, smoking and diabetes can all cause atherosclerosis.
When atherosclerosis affects the arteries in the legs, the problem is called peripheral arterial disease (or PAD, for short).
Why do my legs hurt?
PAD cuts down the blood flow to the muscles and other tissues in your legs. Claudication is the name for the pain you feel in the calves, legs or buttocks when you walk. Claudication is the most common complaint of people with PAD. The pain happens when you walk. It goes away after a few minutes of rest.
How can my doctor be sure I have PAD?
Your doctor may suspect that your arteries have narrowed by listening to the blood flow in them, using a stethoscope. Then he or she may do some tests to see if you have PAD. Your doctor may also do tests to see if your other arteries have atherosclerosis.
Can PAD be treated?
Yes. PAD is often treated with diet and exercise, and sometimes medicine. People with PAD must stop smoking. It is important for people with PAD to bring down high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar levels. A walking program is very helpful. You should walk at least 3 times a week for 30 to 45 minutes each time. Walk until the pain is too uncomfortable. Stop and rest until the pain goes away. Then start walking again.
My day start at 3:00 AM, I have time to study my assignment up to 5AM. Do I still have assignments? My answer is yes. Every patient that is due the following day for follow-up, I consider it an assignment to read more about that particular disease, especially if the case is unusual, that is the only way in my own opinion a DOCTOR become superior to other MD. In my view where you graduate (SCHOOL) only reflect when you apply for RESIDENCY training, and the first 2 years of practice, but after that it is up to an individual how you update yourself.
Everyday we are bombarded by approximately 7,000 journals. You have to do your very best to read at least 10% of it, otherwise you will become obsolete, That is how important to us to have the computer for data storage, and to update ourselves, because even you are the best among the best you cannot memorize it all.
If your present MD is not literate to computer or doest have one yet, be careful he or she may be OUTDATED.
There is two-drug company who is fighting for my prescription, which is cool. By just prescribing their medicine, they will give me a reward? One drug company want to give me a PALMTOP of my choice, just to prescribe their hypertensive MEDS, and the other one a complete set of AQAUARIUM. That is the beauty when they recognize that your practice is good.
Tomorrow we don’t have clinic, because my wife (DRA. AMELYN RAFAEL) is schedule to have her every 2 weeks prenatal check-up to DRA. SOL PANGAN (OBSTETRICIAN) in ST Lukes Medical Center.
I am the elder brother of Sandro, who accidentally became a Medical Doctor.
Is that true? Of course, YES!
I was invited by my brother to divulge my daily subsistence. Expect to read here my daily involvement in the field of medicine as a PRIVATE MD, and occasionally as a FAMILY MAN. You can ask question, just send me an e-mail.
Oh, by the way just to inform the world that my son RYAN was chosen by the principal to have a special class in computer. They select to every level for example in toddler, Nursery, Kinder, Prep, Grade 1 etc. one student whom they think excel in the class. Ryan is only 3 years and 8 months.
Happy birthday to my closest and knows_me_best person on universe!
You’re 9 years older than me again. Hehehe.
