GMA’s SONA

Yesterday, I went home early to catch some glimpse of GMA’s SONA. As I expected it was just a “GMA show of force”. Manolo was in ANC with Korina and as he said “GMA is now in her best and strongest political situation”.

Read more about SONA with some reactions in MLQ3 and PCIJ.

Read also Paeng’s SONA notebook, Newsstand’s hollow victory and curious language, Unlawyer’s Isang Bansa, Isang Diwa, and Jove’s Sona stories.

And oh, Manolo got “the day after” already.

Cory’s Prayer

William Esposo, inq7 wrote:

As an EDSA participant who organized and headed her 1985-86 campaign media bureau, I cannot reconcile this position of our former president with the very events that made EDSA I and her own ascension to the presidency possible. This reeks of double standard, and to her critics – outright hypocrisy.

Conrado de Quiros, inq7 wrote:

I do know how to pray, too: With leaders like these, please lang God, help us.

JB D. Baylon, Malaya said:

As a voter and as a citizen I have come to the agonizing conclusion that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has to go. And it is my prayer that this happens through her resignation, because it will be totally hilarious if another vacancy in the Office of the President of the Republic is declared by the Supreme Court; hilarious but perhaps a result of karma?

Read his opinion in June 21, 2004 archive of Inquirer.

Read the full report here.

PCIJ posted it here and an interesting comment by ichirosan pointing to Dean Jorge Bocobo’s Gloria’s 10 to 1 Landslide in Cebu.
